Carriers Redirecting to Avoid Savannah

· Congestion continues to be a major problem throughout the country however Savannah has recently been greatly affected. Vessels have been delayed for 8-10 days while waiting to berth at this location. On average there are 22-27 ships a day anchored, leaving some carriers searching for options to avoid this location.

· CMA-CGM and Hapag-Lloyd have both recently released an updated sailing schedule diverting to Charleston staring in November. Both hoping to keep a timelier schedule on the east coast until the situation improves.

· The Georgia Port Authority has stated this however will increase pressure felt by truckers as they will be asked to drive an additional 100 miles. In turn causing additional delays and even the possibility for storage as truckers may be unable to get cargo out prior to the end of free time.
