Increased fees at the Port of LA and Long Beach

· The West coast MTO Agreement announced effective November 1, 2023, that the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach will have a 4% increase in the charged Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF). This fee was introduced in 2005 to fund extended gate hours including nights and weekends.

· The fee will be increased to $35.57 for twenty-foot containers and $71.14 per forty-foot container. This fee will continue to be exempt for empty containers, import and export containers that transits via the Alameda Corridor.

· This increase correlates with the wage increase with provided in the updated contract between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association.
