Tianjin under Partial Lockdown due to Covid 19 Outbreak



 

· The port city of Tianjin has been placed under a partial lock down due to a Covid-19 outbreak. The port group over seining operations at Tianjin has started testing all employees to meet the requirements now being implemented to control the epidemic.

· 13 points have been setup within the port to collect swabs from employees, as bus and train service to Tianjin and other cities have been suspended. Residents have also been advised not to leave their home unless necessary.

· There have been at least 2 local confirmed cases of the highly contagious Omicron variant in the city over the weekend and to comply with the Chinese governments zero covid policy ahead of the Beijing Winter Olympics this lockdown and testing has were immediately initiated. Terminal operations at the 8th busiest container port in the world are continuing normally and there have not been any indications of expected delays.
